Jorman Gutiérrez was born in Colombia in 1994. He discovered his first artistic calling at the age of 5 in Armenia, the heart of the lush mountainous jungle of the Colombian coffee region, after a devastating earthquake that destroyed his hometown. He began to paint with devotion and did not receive any formal artistic education until he was 15, when he began his specialization in Graphic Design at the university and devoted his training to the workshops of Darío Ortiz Robledo. In 2014 he obtained a two-year scholarship with Guillermo Roux in Buenos Aires, where he has lived since then. He attends renowned workshops and participates in various individual and group exhibitions in Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico and Colombia (Luis Perlotti Museum, Guillermo Roux Workshop, Konex Cultural City, MobArt, Palacio de Cristal de Quito, Casa de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Ramón Alva Gallery of the Canal Universidad Veracruzana, among others).
He won first prize in the Divina Proporción de Teorema contest with his work '1999', and second place in the XI TESIS Librería Faber-Castell Drawing Salon for his work 'Situaciones Públicas', both in Buenos Aires in 2016. Recently, His work was selected for the UADE Visual Arts Contest 2019, and he is working on his next international individual exhibition.
He specializes in both detailed watercolors and large-format oil paintings and explores plastic diversity. He illustrates and directs visual arts seminars.
